The gardens there are delightful. The climate is generally warm. There is good fishing, an interesting eighteen-hole golf course, tennis courts (grass and hard), a good and sociable bowling club, sailing and excellent cricket to watch. Fishing and horse riding are available not far away. | |||

The hotel is only a short walk away from the beach and the town with its excellent shops. Being also at the foot of Salcombe Hill, a climb affords marvelous views over the whole Sid Valley. Sidmouth is a good base for visiting Exeter, Lyme Regis, Plymouth, Taunton, etc. There are also coach trips available locally. |
